The Tomb is located just at the end
of the town along Via Appia's ancient path. Already in the 16th
century it was object of studies and there are numerous lithographs
and drawings reproducing it.
The monument consists of a square podium made of peperino blocks
with four truncated cone-shaped structures at its four angles.
In the central part, a further structure covers the funerary
cella. Probably it was falsely attributed to the Orazi and Curiazi;
the construction's age can be dated back in the first period
of the Republic thanks to its similarity with other older Etruscan
monuments.
