This villa was built according to the wish of Filippo Colonna at the beginning of the 17th century. This hunting lodge stood in a panoramic place, and it was even represented in a painting by Van Wittel.
The lodge was completely destroyed during the second world war except for the elliptical staircase on the frontal side and a nymphaeum on the entrance. In the 19th century the whole structure was alienated from the Colonna and became property of the Countess Marianna di Marsciano who transformed both the lodge and the park according to the new style of that period.
Today it is still possible to see the core of the structure, the most important part of which consists of the inner path and the little wood of ilexes. There are ruins of fountains, while the marble busts, which once decorated the square in front of the villa, have been removed.
